 10月21日,中国国际电视台(英文简写CGTN)用三分钟的时间,报道了中交二航局承建的重庆朝天门大桥建设背后的故事。这座建成时是世界最大跨径拱桥的超级桥梁,有着什么样的前世今生?它是如何承受住“5.12”汶川地震的考验而又毫发无损的?CGTN通过深入了解、采访二航局大桥建设者,为您揭秘?

With the title of the Capital of Bridges in China, Chongqing is famous for having numerous bridges across mountains and rivers. Among them, the Chaotianmen Yangtze River is a great example of the city’s leading bridge building technologies in the world. 

重庆既是一座山城,也是一座水城。山峦流水之间,需要大量桥梁联结沟通,“桥都”重庆也因此凭借领先世界的造桥技艺闻名于世——朝天门长江大桥就是一个很好的范例。

Chongqing is a city built on mountains, so building bridges on its terrain is never an easy task. 

重庆是一座山城,在这种地形上建造桥梁从来都不是一件容易的事情。

 

This Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge right behind me is one of a very good examples. It is located in Central Chongqing on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.

With a span of 552 meters, it is the largest span arch bridge in the world. 

The bridge was designed by a subsidiary of China Communications Construction, and was open to traffic in 2009. 

我身后的朝天门长江大桥就是一个很好的例子。它位于长江上游的重庆主城区。

它的跨度为552米,是世界上最大跨径(钢桁架系杆)拱桥。这座桥是由中交二航局承建,并于2009年建成通车。

Chaotianmen Beige is designed like an arch bridge. Due to the constant water flow, the middle of the river is often turbulent and as such cannot support piers. While building the bridge, it was important for us to ensure that it will not affect the traffic and safety of cruise ships. We used four spherical pillars of 14,500 tons, the heaviest for any bridge in the world. We have also used nearly 50,000 tons of steel, which was much more than what was used for the Beijing National Stadium or the Bird’s Nest.

朝天门大桥是拱桥的设计造型。在建造这座桥的时候,超长的跨径设计考虑了避开长江水流冲击以及通航需求等一系列因素。我们(在两个桥墩上)一共使用了四个14500吨的球形支座,这是世界最大的球形抗震支座。我们还使用了近5万吨的钢材,这比北京国家体育场和鸟巢所用的钢材还要多。

Thanks to its unique design, the bridge also withstood the Sichuan Wenchuan earthquake, one of the most damaging quakes in China’s recent history. 

得益于其独特的设计,这座桥也经受住了中国近现代历史上最具破坏性的地震之一——四川汶川地震。

When the tremor occurred, the Chaotianmen Bridge was still under construction. It was swayed by 50 cm. The earthquake lasted about 1 minute, but the bridge was shaking for over 10 minutes. 

地震发生时,朝天门大桥仍在建设中。大桥晃动幅度达50公分,地震持续了大约1分钟,但桥摇晃了10多分钟。

Although there was a slight displacement, the structure of the bridge was still safe, and the construction proceeded normally in the next day. 

虽然有轻微的位移,但桥的结构仍然是安全的,施工在第二天正常进行。

The earthquake hit around 2:28 pm on May 12, 2008. The bridge construction was not yet complete. We were on the bridge and the whole structure was shaking very badly. No one told us what was going on. We thought that it would be impossible to finish our project as scheduled on May 20. But the next day, we found that the bridge was intact and in its original position. After a thorough strucutral analysis, we realized that the tseel strcuture was exteremely rigid due to our unique design. In addition, the slide board we used helped reduce friction. By May 20, we successfully completed the construction with zero errors.

地震发生在2008年5月12日下午2点28分。桥的建设还没有完成。我们在桥上,整个结构都在剧烈地摇晃。没人告诉我们发生了什么。我们认为在5月20日如期合龙是不可能的。但第二天,我们发现桥完好无损,(产生位移的地方)又回到了原位。经过彻底的结构分析,我们意识到,这得益于我们大桥独特的设计和结构物超强的刚性。此外,我们使用的滑板还有助于减少摩擦。5月20日,我们零误差完成了大桥合龙。

With these achievements, the project has become a milestone in the chapter of China’s bridge construction. It marks that the country’s bridge building technology has reached a worldclass level, and that has also contributed to the development of China’s overall bridge construction. 

有了这些成就,(使得)该项目(朝天门长江大桥)成为中国桥梁建设篇章中的一个里程碑。这标志着中国的桥梁建设技术达到了世界一流水平,也为中国桥梁建设的整体发展做出了贡献。
